The Peel commission recommendation as I recall had some 250.000 Palestinians going out of New-Israel and only 20,000 Jews going to the New Israel, albeit a much smaller version of todays one.. That was very much a part of the Arab objection to and rejection of the commission,s recommendations and in my view understandably so. As to BG and his role in the implementation of the program of transfer, Morris deals with that but you might go a little further than pages 252/253.It mentions BG,s desire for Discretion even though it was a British proposal. I have found instances of BG,S behaviour in battle that contradict your somewhat cleaner view of him, in the context of "Transfer".
