-Jews and Palestinians are of the same race, racism is simply inapplicable- In English usage, if I call a Greek or Italian a 'wop', a 'wog' a 'dago', or a 'spic' I am expressing a racist sentiment no different psychologically than that evinced by the more egregious racist slurs (chink, yid, sand-nigger, etc.). Though a casuistical philologist may equivocate, noting that Greeks, Italians and Englishman basically belong to the same 'race' (a stupid concept anyway, since it is not scientific). i.e. these groups are of Indo-European stock, this in no way undercuts the thrust of the prejudice evidenced by such usage, based on common perceptions of a seminal ethnic difference that is essentially just a cultural alterity. Guershon's post is correct.
