This, of course, is why nobody much outside Israel and the US likes the Occupation. There would have been some fairness in annexing the land and making the Pals Israeli citizens. There would have been some fairness in leaving the land alone and leaving the Pals without Israeli citizenship. There is absolutely no fairness in taking the land and leaving the Pals without Israeli citizenhship. But then Israel has always ideally wanted the land without the people who came with it and the expansion of the settlements while making life generally miserable and difficult for the Pals, so that as many leave as possible, has been a deliberate attempt at slow-motion ethnic cleansing. Unfortunately for Israel the days when you could get away with that without the world noticing have gone and the whole West Bank Occupation and settlement has turned into the biggest fiasco in modern Israel's short life. Time to get out.
