The release of Gilad would be a tangible accomplishment. The cessation, even for a reasonable period would also be an accomplishment. Until now it was tit for tat. Both the PAL terrorists and Hezbollah now realize that they totally miscalculated the IDF reaction. If IDF stops its bombings and incursions, the PALs can say that they got something but they certainly won't be able to transform their defeat into a victory like they tried in Lebanon and Disengagement. On the other hand if a hudna is achieved, they will really have to think long and hard as to where they want to test Israel's wrath again after having suffered through Summer Rain this time. It is likely that next time it would be far more intense.
