It's fascinating to ask the question though. If only things were different, how must they have had to inevitably turn out? Really, though. If arabs had accepted the 1947 borders, is there any possibility that Israel would today fit inside the 1947 borders? No, Israel would have had to expand, and that would create hostility from arabs, and things would likely turn out not that much different by now. Or maybe not. Who can be sure how things would be today if only something had been different 73 years ago?
