I must agree with Secular. If Carter was right first time, why apologize? The Israel apologists are not in the forgiving business anyway, as most of the posts here and elsewhere show. So Carter gets to be scorned by the Jewish lobbies, and discredited by the rest of us. The world needs fewer grovelling US presidents. The rest of the world never understands that "bowing and scraping" by a mighty power.
