V: "The USA statements reaffirm the USA is in control." Or that the USA insists that it must continue to be in control. The Pals appear to have decided that it has had a gutfull of that, precisely because the USA has demonstrated once too often how much it is in Israel's pocket. The Pals have decided that they will show two fingers to the USA and take this to the UNSC instead. Super-high-risk, no doubt, but if they can box the USA into a corner where it can't use the veto then the Pals will win, and win Big Time. Everyone assumes that the USA veto is a forgone conclusion. I'm not certain that this is the case, ESPECIALLY when sober minds in the state dept will weigh up this equation: 1) IF the Pals insist on doing this 2) AND the USA uses its veto 3) THEN the Israelis will slaughter the Pals. That's a very powerful incentive for the USA **not** to veto this, because who needs to be seen as an accessory to a massacre?
