"Cruelty in Iraq goes back at least 3000 years...Take a look at reliefs describing Assyrian kings: Very fierce and cruel looking." - Tosefta At Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum, we have an ancient sculptural figure in an aggressive pose, who happens to be an Oriental judge - and what a scary, fierce looking man he was. Don't get in his way. (Oh yes, I also studied in University amongst my regular subjects: Chinese Art History, European Art History, Classical Civilizations, Agrarian and Emergent State Societies - you know, "the practical" university courses one takes.) And in fact, there has been no civilization on earth which hasn't shown cruelty, oppression or domination over another civilization. So the Iraqis are presently given an unfair treatment here. We all knew exactly the disorderly way Saddam was going to go and it's documentation, with or without audio, on CNN & Al Jazeera, and with great scrutiny and repetition. Now that's helpful to counter Islamic extremism.
