Of course there is no one I have always agreed with. And suppose I'm wrong about Bush. But I'll explain what I meant about Bush strengthening Iran: 1) Lumping Iran and Iraq together in his "Axis of Evil" speech. The two countries never had any alliance. The main reason Saddam pretended to have nukes was to scare off the IRANIANS, not use them to attack Israel or America. And since the Iranians had to face Saddam on their border, they were not the great regional power they are now. Bush I kept him in power for precisely this reason. 2) Not finishing the job in Afghanistan. We should have spent the billions wasted in Iraq catching bin Laden, then gotten the hell out of there.Instead, Iran sees us bogged down in both countries, and can act with impunity.Where is our army? Wasted fighting enemies that we have created, while more are inspired by this futile war every day. There was no al Qaeda in Iraq, before Bush gave them a green light. This is military stupidity at its worst.
