    Sorry am not convinced.What do you mean by proportionate in a war situation?Armies are meant to defend and protect the territorial integrity of their sovereign entities.Any encroachment into a sovereign entity invites a hostile and often violent response from the national army/defence force.IDF not exempted.Any disciplined and modern army's motto is to shoot to kill.Not to shoot proportionately.Which military doctrine are you trying to invent?Soldiers do not carry guns to be nice or proportionate.This is the harsh reality.Mindful of course, of the Geneva convention.So,i reiterate,the IDF responded accordingly like any other modern and disciplined army would have reacted.I hope you are not comparing the IDF's response to that of the Pakistan Home Based Care Defence Club and the Red Mosque!Point of history,USA responded to Japan and Afghanistan/Taliban aggrersion in the same way.
