Haaretz too reported in June 1986 that, at an international conference on Palestinian demography at Haifa University, virtually all the participants ridiculed Peters's demographic 'theses'. "From Time Immemorial" has been relegated to the division of laughable propaganda myths, but Yonathan, who calls me 'ignorant', is still peddling FTI. He should have known better. I am accused of being only negative about Israel. But I want to state here that I admire the (relative) freedom and openness of academia and the press in Israel. There are still a lot of skeletons in the cupboard, but - as Pt. said yesterday - there are many in Israel who are prepared to look beyond all the propaganda. In this respect the Arab world has a long way to go to catch up with Israel.
