Dear Michael, I can give you an answer if you wish, but I don?t think it is the one you want. First of all it is Israel, a so-called democracy, which is ethnically cleaning the Palestinians. It is the Israelis who are actually pushing the Palestinians back into the sea. It is the Israelis who are doing the pillaging and plundering. Under these conditions, it is totally understandable that a people, tyrannized, murdered, and cleansed as they are, should use the rhetoric they do. And they are guilty of nothing. A woman who is being gang-raped is not guilty when, to call off the rapists, she threatens them with murder. Under your morality we should not blame them, we must blame her. Woeful. Thirdly, on a practical level, it is a very powerful negotiating card. The only ones who can give the Israelis what they crave, legitimacy, is the Palestinians. Their claims for the end of the Israeli state are an utter rejection of that. The Israelis can only get it through negotiation. No wonder Israelis and their apologists are belly-aching. Regards.
