@Eva: if you have any convincing reason for including Transjordan in Palestine, you forgot to provide it. And you talk about "greedy" people objecting to their territory being taken for a new state. I suggest you try that out on some other people - the Americans, the Russians, the Chinese, the French or whoever. Let us know how you get on. Incidentally, it seems to me that the Celts would be able to make a good case that 2000 years ago they had a state somewhere, and no doubt they could quote some heavenly authority or other.
