The situation on the northern border might be passed along by phone. A meeting isn't necessary. But if Israel wants to pay for a vacation for him, OK. The other issues are POLICY and would require meetings with State or the political aides to Obama that Israel doesn't like. None of them are mentioned. Maybe that's because if Barak talked to them openly it would hurt Likud and Lieberman's image.
