he stuck by it despite the fact that it nixed every agreement he'd worked towards with israel. a lesser man would have set it aside. and he may have come close once. i don't recall when; but i distinctly remember the uproar when he sprang it last minute. maybe camp david; but it seems more recent than that. no matter; i think he was close to letting it go, but in the end he couldn't. i realize what israel faces on a daily basis, fox. but i also realize that sharon DID weaken the fatah and bolster hamas. he IS responsible for their rise in popularity and ultimate win at the polls; although political savvy helped them win despite losing the popular vote. but they'd not have had the support to do that without sharon's tactics. he also devastated fatah's infrastructure then accused arafat of not controlling hamas. is this an oxymoron, or what? finally; the man had a lot of gall calling arafat a terrorist considering his own bloody past. power was all that separated the two.
