El-Birawi-- It was so sad how the state of Israel kept your parents apart. The whole system is so cruel. I am so glad your father was able to work something out in the end. But it shouldn't have been necessary. I think you are absolutely right when you say the people today aren't the same people that built up Israel--I find many can be heartless and soulless at times. Avraham Burg the former speaker of the Knesset spoke about this too: "The Zionist revolution has always rested on two pillars: a just path and an ethical leadership. Neither of these is operative any longer. The Israeli nation today rests on a scaffolding of corruption; and on the foundation of oppression and injustice. As such; the end of the Zionists enterprise is already on our doorstep. There is a real chance that ours will be the last Zionist generation. There may be a Jewish State here; but it will be a different sort, strange and ugly." Here is the URL http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/article.asp?ID=1044 if you wish to read the his piece. I love Avraham Burg--he is such a fair and moral man. I wish Israel had many more like him. Thanks again, Dutch
