commitment to a negotiated peace with Israel at the Bethlehem congress meeting. You and I know that when Fatah renewed its charter with stating its " right to resistance to occupation in all its forms in line with its commitment to a negotiated peace with Israel " it's attributed to placating the hardline delegates within the congress. Apparently they won't renounce use of violence, that is, on paper until a final status agreement between Israel and the Palestinians is in writing. Action speaks louder than words and so far President Abbas and the PA has not resorted to resistance through violent means as Hamas. Hamas should not have been permitted to participate in the Palestinian elections in 2006 as they defied all agreements the PLO signed with Israel. My father was right about his weariness with their political inclusion because they did not reconcile with the Fatah movement. Forget about accepting Israel, they don't accept the principles of the PA's existence.
