you are right that the issue is political and needs to be solved through negotiations. where you go wrong is when you claim that we have no historical claims to jerusalem. we do and we always did. israel has historical claims to israel, as the declaration of independence clearly states. without jewish historical claims to the land, there would be no israel. there would be no jewish state. as for jerusalem: areas like gilo and ramat shalom will stay under israeli sovereignty. there is no possible argument in this regard.
