Reestablishment of Israel, a Jewish homeland, was just as valid for Mizrahi Jews, who were persecuted and treated as dhimmis in the Muslim world, as for European. The Holocaust was the ultimate crime against the Jews and it happened in Europe, but don't you think for a moment that Jews were not being killed in the Arab world and Iran. All you have to do is remember is all those pogrom, including Iraq in 1941. The Jewish existence in the Muslim lands was precarious, at best. Jews need their own homeland where they can be a majority. While 'Palestinians' have home in Jordan (2/3 of Palestine prior to division by Britain) there is no other Jew country in the world. Your Palestinians, by their own admission are a part of the Arab world, and not a distinct nation. Arens is wrong, JNF doesn't have the right to collect money for one purpose and spend it otherwise. If the money was collected to purchase the land to settle the Jews, it's obvious that non-Israeli Jews should have a priority.
