The need to preempt Iran and export gas to Egypt was the reason the government gave to push through its controversial plan for Israel's natural gas. Now, this reason may no longer exist.08:52 31.08.15 | 1 comments
You really have to be kidding. In the 1st place, even the Arab League agreed that the Palestine Arabs can't expect to recover all their lost land from rejecting the 1947 Plan, which is why the so-called "Saudi Plan" is based on the "1967 borders". In the 2nd place, the substantial Hamas faction, who won the last election, rejects the 1947 Plan outright, rejects Israel with ANY borders. And lastly, even Abbas and the PA reject the provisions of the 1947 Plan for a "Jewish State" (the exact language UN#181 uses - "Jewish State" mentioned more than 20 times in the document). So the "Palestinians" can hardly expect to enjoy any benefits afforded them in the 1947 Plan if they STILL reject the Jewish State it calls for - and they do. Further proof of this - Abbas and the PA demand E. Jerusalem as their capital, which 1947 Plan ruled out; creating a separate UN protectorate. BOTTOM LINE: 1947 Plan is dead, the "Palestinians" STILL reject it. Nuts for you to keep obsessing over it.
