What's a sweet deal? The chance for the Palestinians to try to negotiate dismantlement of the settlements in the West Bank, which are in violation of the 4th Geneva Convention? Negotiate Israeli abandonment of E. Jerusalem, the annexation of which is a violation of international law, or perhaps moving the security wall from Palestinian territory? The International Court of Justice has ruled the wall to be illegal. What do the Palestinians have to negotiate with to force the Israelis to lift the near genocidal blockade of Gaza. The blockade, collective punishment of a civilian population, is a violation of article 33 of the 4th Geneva Convention, and thus a war crime. It would make more sense for the Palestinians to petition the UN to force Israel to comply with international law; and then negotiate.
