Gabe1 said "I can see the Leftist Secular Jewish Humanists salivating and falling all over themselves in their quest to say "I told you that Hamas is softening and now we have a partner"." Wasn't that the point of the sanctions and the demands on Hamas? Wasn't all that done in order to soften their position. If not, why did Israel demand Hamas recognize Israel, and the treaties? What was the point of making the demands if Israel won't allow Hamas to do exactly what Israel asks Hamas to do? If Israel doesn't believe Hamas can ever change, then all the demands were bull. A smoke screen to justify draconian measures. If Hamas is NOT softening, then all the sanctions were a complete failure. If they are a failure then they have no justification for continuing. They go from being sanctions imposed with the just and reasonable purpose of changing Hamas's behavior, to being unlawful group punishment upon the Palestinian people.
