D: "as does un 242 which provides Israel with secure boundaries." No, it doesn't. It says EVERYONE gets secure and recognized boundaries, Duncan. THAT portion of Res 242 does not restrict itself to Israel at all, unlike the previous line which told HER - and her alone - to withdraw from occupied territory. EVERYONE has to have secure and recognized boundaries before the UN SC decides that this decades-long bit of argy-bargy is over, and it is the height of insular arrogance to insist - indeed, to demand - that this means ISRAEL can "secure" its borders by stealing land off someone else, and then claim that the other side MUST then "recognize" that land seizure. Go back and read it again, and you'll see that I am right.
