Hi Marlene--I see you have run into the "Being Jewish is an entnicity but it is about religion as well.I dont think there are two jews on this board who can agree with each other on what the definition is.That is why Israel cannot put a constitution together.The secular versus the Religious. In Ireland there are a couple of ways to become a Citizen. 1, Work here for 5 years, (Total of) and that entitles you to "Irish Citizenship" and full rights that go with it.We do not have Non Irish Citizens, Just Citizens of Ireland. 2, Any one of your Grand parents were Irish gets you citizenship. Nobody asks for your religion except for the record, but it is not grounds for rejection.That is where Israel falls down.That is why it is rightfully seen as a racist society, where it,s citizens feel quite free if not proud to talk freely about their racism.They do not see it.Perhaps Jews should be kicked out of countries where they are "non true" citizens.But that would be "anti semitic".
