'I accept that the comments that Ken Livingstone has made make it more difficult for Londoners of Jewish faith to feel that the Labour Party is a place for them,' says mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan.03:33 02.05.16 | 0 comments
I am not familiar with the work of this Machon. Here is their self description: "Machon Meir is the only Outreach yeshiva in Israel presenting Judaism in a strongly Zionist environment based on the teachings of Rabbi Avraham HaCohen Kook, zt"l. If you have questions about Judaism, Machon Meir will help you develop a strong, positive identity based on a connection to your Jewish roots, the Jewish People, and the State of Israel. Our teachers mentor and guide their students, encouraging love of every Jewish person, regardless of background or affiliation. Departments for Hebrew, Russian, French, Spanish and English speakers have classes ranging from beginners to advanced levels. We offer a Hebrew Ulpan, and since we have status as a Hesder Yeshiva, we can arrange army training as a Hesder student or in Machal. Join a new dialog based on real love for every member of the Jewish People and characterized by patience, respect and integrity." Now, Rabbi Avraham Kook (d. 1935) believed that the Messiah was coming on his own. His son Zvi Yehudah Kook was the one who wanted to "help" the messiah appear following the 1967 war. So Traitor's description is not accurate. I would like to hear more, though. The name of this Machon came up in talk about religious extremism. Can you be more specific about your experiences, traitor? Thanks.
