Funny, I was making myself the same remark the other day. Israel seems to become indeed he 51st state. Why did I think this ? I was locked in an anwsering machine in hebrew the other day and I felt something should be done to make it easier on immigrants ! But then I thought no, they should be opening more oulpanim, allow more people in kibbutzim, and ISrael will retain its identity. Of course up to a certain limit ! The whole world is now globalized with the US way if life, for the better and worse. Globalization is now decreasing in fact now, leaving space for local way of life. Work , live produce and consume local. Americans are doing it already....in 5 years we will see even more changes....5 years is like 50 years decades ago...the writer of the article is really hitting a good point, not so great, it is so easy to see, but it had to be printed and said.
