arafat signed away Palestinian rights.See my post 48 to Crista for details.Hence the intifada.Hamas made an HISTORIC COMPROMISE in accepting the 2 state solution. In 1947 the Palestinians held to a unitary state & that is why the Arabs rejected the UN Partition Plane of 1947(Res.181)because it violated their right to self determination guaranteed by the League of Nations, who betrayed them and went for the Mandate which led to the Partition of 1947.That Partition Line gave 44% land to Palestinians&56% to the jews. The armistice line of 1949 took all that away and gave only 22% land to the Palestinians. But it was not a UN decision.Only bilateral agreement between israel, egypt, jordan, lebanon, syria. Not intended as final borders, only temporary agreement. The Green Line is the armistice line.Asking for 67 borders then is shortchanging the Palestinians.Since Hamas has agreed to the 2 state the just solution is the Partition Line, plus J.as capital, plus right of return of refugees.
