Three million is probably closer to the mark. 2) "Muslim" is not "Arab"; do you blur the two to sustain the 5 million figure? In the US, this distinction is important, as we have a sizable number of Christian Lebanese, for example. 3) That no American CITIZEN was directly involved in 9/11 is beside the point. Arab Muslims flew into our buildings after being given visas for "studying." And, we already have homegrown terrorists (e.g. Padilla). Police have identified mosques preaching terror (e.g. in Buffalo), and we must assume that far more are being watched. How many terrorist churches or synagogues, by contrast, have been broken up? Zero. 4) American opportunity makes Islamism a bit less common. But we can judge Muslims by their interest groups (e.g. CAIR), which are Islamist. That squares with EVERY OTHER WESTERN COUNTRY'S EXPERIENCE. Muslims are a risk factor for terrorism. Simple.
