We obviously have different views but you're a reasonable person and dialogue should be what this site is about. I tell you my fears for Israel. Modern Israel is a young state and young states tend to breed extreme nationalism. My fear is that Israel is set on some kind of nationalist binge, much like Serbia (feeling its feet after decades of internationalist socialism) went on at the end of the 1990s. There are many parallels. The military strength, the sense of victimhood (Serbs were victims at Jasenovac along with Jews), the combination of religious, ethnic and nationalist zeal, the ethnic and territorial conflict with neighbours, the talk of 'transfer'. I was an aid worker in Bosnia during the war and I saw the results. It's been a disaster for Serbia as well as its neighbours. The Jewish people have a tradition of tolerance and openness to others. The Occupation seems to be pretty much the opposite of that. p.s nothing against Teich, but I do object to be called anti-semitic.
