Nathan Very appropos comment thank you.Just change title to Israelis rather than "settlers"and it should/must be implemented at long last! The demonizers of these(Our People)did not decide just on the spur of the moment to leave all behind during their young life, and move to Gush Katif! They were encouraged by various governments purposefully and worked hard to build the infrastructues by the sweat of their brow--as did the early pinoneers in the 1800's.And after nigh on 40 years! Then up comes Sharon and decides ooops! You must now depart without further ado! People also forget that these individuals didn?t just sit down twiddling their thumbs in an idle way. They not only were they a buffer to Israel proper, against attacks, but Israel benefitted from the products they produced, and thus economically Israel benefitted. Not to mention the jobs Arabs enjoyed by their presense. No pre-preparations,no accomodations and apparently the children are suffering traumatically by the great uprooting of this episode.Nor the mention of the divorce rate emanating from this catastrophy. I do not believe,of the compensation number given by the author is correct.Otherwise they'd be happy after a fashion. Can anyone imagine the high price of housing in Israel?A terrible burden they cannot afford in any case. Many are still living in hotel accommodation. Food for thought to my dear brethren living in comfort in Tel-Aviv, and elsewhere. I am ashamed to read and hear my people calling them tax dodgers and scroungers. They worked hard, very hard. Bugger all of you who critizes them. I am bound to add that I neither know any of these people, and am a secular Jew for good measure. Also let us remember these our people who are always branded as ultra religious have no inkling what they are talking about. The majority are as secular as myself.
