L: "Israel wants to resolve the situation with the Palestinians but they have not had anyone to work with. Its an old song, but one that has been played over and over again and proven as fact." Israel wants to "resolve the situation"?!?!? Israel wants to keep a big ol' chunk of the West Bank and all of Jerusalem, and they want to prevent the Arabs they ejected in 1948 from returning. They think Abbas is now totally dependent on Israeli largess to maintain himself in power and, therefore, unable to resist Israeli demands that he sign those things away. So that's why they are talking; they think they finally have a Pal whose arm they can twist to make him betray his own people. But I don't think Abbas will sign, because the resulting "Palestine" would be unviable. Isreal will then turn these "talks" into prattle, return to an indefinite occupation/land-grab, and wait for a Pal quisling to turn up. After all, Larry, it's what they have been doing for 40 years
