"Sometimes war takes one outside one`s boundaries. Again you can thank all the Americans who died in the Pacific so that you could carp." The USA no longer occupies any of the pacific that we drove the japanese out of. The northern Marianas people decided they wanted to be US citizens and they are. The people of Guam have not made up their minds what they want and might vote to be independent. Samoa is -- disorganized. US soldiers visit Japan and Okinawa but do not control there; both places are considering barring our servicemen because of a few well-publicized rapes, particularly of young schoolgirls. They have the right to keep us out if they choose to. This is not comparable to Israel's wars, particularly 1956 and all since 1973.
