B: "There is an act of war, or there is peace. Preemptive strike means nothing. Once you attack, and get hit back, you started the fight, and the other side reacted to your aggression. Period." At last someone else who understands that the rules were turned upside down at the end of WW2. Everyone else here continues to trot out their tired old excuses to prove that "their side" were the "good guys" even tho "their side" actually started the war. Armed conflict is armed conflict, and a nation can defend itself once it is attacked. And that's the alpha and the omega of it post-WW2. People who hold a contrary view are always astonished that wars are no longer declared, or that wars no longer end with treaties, but with ceasefires. They can't understand why this is so, coz their thinking is 19th century, and the world has moved on. And they haven't.

This Valentine's day, celebrate not love, but the sublime bond of friendship
