JN: "Hamas already has done that. There is no 'trying' about it. It`s a fait accompli. The Gaza Strip has successfully seceded from the PA." When did Gaza declare independence, Jeff? The result now is most accurately portrayed as a civil war; two regimes claiming control of a single entity. Abbas can claim Gaza is a rebel province that is now out of the control of the "central govt" of the West Bank, and it is indisputable. Hamas can claim that it is still the majority party in the PA legislature, and the current emergency govt can rule for no more than 30 days before THAT govt becomes illegitimate. And THAT claim has merit. But that Gaza has seceded from the West Bank? No, until they actually CLAIM that secession then this is just a propaganda slogan from Abbas. And from you. Let's face it, Jeff, if Hamas attempts a move on the West Bank it would not be wise to put money on Fatah, and then your "claim" becomes nothing but zionist wishful thinking.

Israel's angry, bitter left must reclaim the language of hope
