The Hamas Charter explicitely calls for the liberation of all Palestine, including all the lands that make up the state of Israel, through Jihad. The Hamas Charter makes it clear that under Islamic law, there can be no international negotitations. It also makes clear the centrality of martyrdom in Islam and to Hamas. Hamas has refused to abide by the conditions of the Quartet to recognize Israel, renounce terror, and abide by signed agreements. Instead, they hold weekly sermons in the mosques calling for the annihilation of Israel. Their leader sits in Damascus, taking his orders from Iran, who is ready to fight till the last Palestinian child. Iran was the first to use child shahids. The moderation of Hamas is a phantom of the imagination, a grasping at straws, by those whose misguided writings have turned out to be false. They will continue to deceive themselves.
