There is more chance that there would be peace in the region today if Israel had been more ruthless in its millitary actions in the past. I believe the word that applies is irony. There would be no consideration of Syria in attacking Israel now or high hopes of Iran, the Palestinians and Hezbollah that a war of attrition against Israel would work. Also the Iranians would be more likely to stop their efforts to develop nuclear weapons if Israel had shown such a willingness, instead of the weakness of its current post-Zionist leaders. This is a matter of the Israeli left's vision, not the right. The USA, your country, dropped two nuclear bombs on the Japanese and on civilians. The English, some of who wish to boycott Israel for its actions in Judea and Samaria, carpet-bombed German cities and their civilians in the 2nd world war. Israel need not occupy Syria or Iran, it needs to say their war machines will be totally destroyed if Israel is attacked or threatened by extinction.
