Firstly, Mr Marco, every decent human felt sadness that the Thai worker was slain by terrorists. His name name should have been printed. He is as important as anyone else. Secondly, conjuring up "3000 years of Jewish history" rings hollow. Jews were never the only population of Canaan/Palestine/whatever one calls that area inhabited by many peoples. A Semitic tribe from Ur wandered in, caused some turmoil among the Hivites, Hittites, Amorites, Moabites, Philistines, Jebusites (who built Urusalim, which was taken by Hebrews c. 900BC, Jebusites continued to live there). The kingdoms of Israel and Judea were destroyed by Assyrians and Babylonians within 200 years' time. Then came Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Muslims. In 440BC, Herodotos wrote of "Syria Palaestina" and about Arabs, no mention of Jews, who were very scarce in that area for millennia. If they had wanted to "return" so badly, why did they wait until the 19th c.?
