I am NOT answering to your questions Bernie, just illuminating them a little bit; President Johnson of America described the blockade as "illegal" and "potentially disastrous to the cause of peace" and therefore suggested that an INTERNATIONAL convoy, incl. an Israeli vessel, sail through the Straits. The British PM Harold Wilson suggested that an intl. naval task force be organized to police the Straits. The Arabs have Russia to thank for that in the UN security council NO conclusions were reached! Gaza was a huge refugee camp where the UN emergency force were stationed from -56-67. Nasser threw them out and in two days the UN was out of Gaza, leaving the Egyptians the full control of their border with Israel. How much difference would the 50.000 Egyptian soldiers from Jemen had made to the 100.000 Egyptian soldiers in Sinai with their 900 tanks? Nasser proclaimed:"We aim at the destruction of the State of Israel" with his military might and Allies:Syria,Jordan,Iraq(!).Not Enough?

from the article: IDF: No Gaza ground operation due to fear of war with Syria

Shimon Attal.
For French teen studying in Israel, it's all about being a Jew among Jews

Arrivals / Departures: Anti-Semitism in France is certainly not the reason why this teen chose to come to Israel; an Israeli whose relatives perished in the Holocaust finds living in Berlin 'perfectly fine.'
