Except that the Mexican territories were sparsely populated (Spain had of course taken these territories from the native population in the first place, but that's another point); The U.S. did conquer them, that's true, but we did compensate them and later bought more land in Southern Arizona. Furthermore, there is no demand from Mexico or Mexican Americans to return the land to Mexico, except by fringe groups. I live in L.A., we have a latino mayor, there is not an uprising demanding secession. Mexico rebuffed Germany's offer to regain these territories in World War I. And it all happened about, oh, 160 years ago. I'm not saying I agree with it, but the fact that residents of these states are 5 generations removed from the war makes this a pretty moot point. In other words, don't try to shift the blame. And God has nothing to do with real estate.
