Revolutions sometimes work. But they do have a weakness. Their people are trained in revolutionary thought and tactics. So a revolutionary government is constantly in danger of counter-revolution Which is why a revolution seldom replaces an establishment with anything better than they had under the old regime. Force and suppresion are necessary to support the revolution. Their best bet is to hold out until a new generation arises who has forgotten how to revolt against the establishment. Lool! As if this is possible! However, some revolutions do succeed. But it usually takes several generations Witness the formet USSR states which are far better off today than they were under the Czars (or the USSR); or Cuba which is far better off today than it was under Batista.
