Yael Patir, Israel director of the left-leaning U.S. Jewish body, sat down with Haaretz to talk about Trump, the gap between U.S. and Israeli Jews, and the growing anger at the Israeli peace camp. Though she concedes boycott efforts by some on the left have a negative effect, she rejects calls to keep peace efforts local.01:12 01.05.16 | 4 comments
How free are the Shia, the Kurds, the Sunni...to live as Shia, Kurds, and Sunni, in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen...Those people are not free and their governments do not represent them. Any government that recognizes and deals with those oppressive governments is a collaborator in oppressing the populace of those countries. The people of those countries are not responsible for any treaty?, signed by those government (that Applies to Arafat and Abu Mazen too). Because the people of those countries are not free and ruled by brutal dictators, the people are not responsible for the absence of ?Peace Now? in their midst, or by the wars that were staged against Israel in their names. If there is a threat of a coup against the oppressive regimes of the Arabs, Israel would be the first to neutralize it.
