I believe, points 1, 2, 3, nonwithstanding, point for is probably the explanation. In the Libya deliberations, Turkey showed it has really no raison d'être in nATO given its actual stances. This interception put Turkey in a better place to have the cake (NATO) and eat it at the same time (be an agressively Islamist country). And 5. That agressive Islamism was obviously going to be in collision course wityh Iran's. The two countries can't be allies, if they have an hegemonic agenda and are sunni and shia respectively, with approximately the same size and the same population.
