Arabs in Israel are second class citizens,by law, unlike ethnic minorities in the other democracies. For example, they cannot enrol in the military and they have specific locations where they can own property, etc.BY LAW,not social discrimination. Israel considers itself a Jewish democracy, something of an oxymoron. This is not surprising when you consider that the Austrian Jew,Theodor Herzel, author of Der Judenstaat(1896) is also the founding father of Zionism. His aim he said was to found a state that would defend Europe against the barbarians. His racism continues to this day.And so,in the early days the buzz word was Zionism. World Zionist Congress that met in Zurich in 1937.In 1948,it was still talked about as a Zionist State.Subsequently,it was changed to Jewish State. Why should one surprised by Israel's racism?
