great response. I was just sitting here thinking, How can one "own" a holy site or even be a good guardian of said holy site if the ugliest, most ingodly and inhloy acts are the only thing 'protecting' it?? How does it increase any self actualization, when the self, motivated by possession and greed and power is itself so unholy? The acts of violence and torture from all sides, from suicide bombers to Shin Bet interrogators only demeans, offrends and diminishes the holy and unifying potential of a spiritual site. There is no spirituality I can see comingf rom anyone who is fighitng for contro of jerusalem, or the 'whole land of Israel'............In trying to secure a ancient, biblical homeland one becomes the very devil, how can you now say Thism place is holy? WE have it contained and protected and now we can worship OUR, one true G-d...It is insanity wht religious fervor can propel one to do! No religious conviction, or pride of homeland can be an excuse for barbaric acts.
