    Ronnie, this article gives me once again the chance to use one of my all time favourite Swiss-sayings: Low expectations = Low disappointments Nevertheless, all people of good-will should offer their unrestricted support for Fayad, should he really have the intention to found a liberal-moderate alternative. Because, face it, both Hamas and Fatah have failed their people miserably over the past decades. However, what then would be urgently needed on the Israeli side, would be a great states- man, who is willing to reach out to the other side and explain to the Israeli people why the time has come to swallow the necessary bitter pills. Sharon may have been a great soldier. But he was still too much a prisoner of his ideological upbringing to become a man for peace, even if he would have encountered a Palestinian Meretz on the other side.
