Robin, Perhaps it is time recheck your own facts too. Do you know why the Arabs rejected the UN agreement (Partition)? I believe it wasn't just a matter of wanting it all the land but they were certainly entitled to those feelings after all it was their country. I believe it had to do with being short changed by the Israelis. It seems to me the Israelis should never have gotten 55% of the UN share of Palestine when their population at the time represented 30% in the region and the Arab whose population in the region re- presented 70% at the time only got 45%. How unfair. I imagine if you had been on the Arab side you would have boy -cotted the UN vote too? The UN should never have held the vote until the Arab's grievance was properly addressed. Now you and many others talk about fighting 5 wars against the Arabs but I question how many of them were instigated by the Israelis themselves? I know many people who were in- volved in the1967 admitted it wasn't a defensive war. Even, Begin admitted to attacking the Egyptian fleet first: "In June 1967 , we again had a choice. The Egyptian Army in concentration in the Sinai approaches do not prove that Nasser was really about to attack us. "We must be honest with our- selves . We decided to attack him." And Yitzak Rabin who was Israel`s chief of staff stated in an aarticle in Le Monde 2/28/68: "I don`t think Nasser wanted war. The two divisions he sent to the Sinai would not have been sufficient to launch an offensive war. He knew it and we knew it." Plus Moshe Dayan, the celebrated Defense Minister in 1967 ad- mitted in a New York Times article in May, 1997, to provoking the war on the Syrian side and occupying the Golan Heights out of greed for more land. Then the Kibbutz members were pressing for more farmland than security. Thus Robin need I say another word other than to say perhaps it's about time you reckecked your own facts too. Thanks, Dutch
