I remember the days in England when there were signs that said 'no Blacks, no Irish, no dogs, no Jews'. You don't see signs like that anymore even if a small minority still hold such views. In Israel (or in Tzfat at least) such views are not only in the majority, apparently, but the signs (or rather the Haredi equivalent) are officially issued or sanctioned. Worse than this, for the soul of Israel and Judaism, is that anyone who dares question such a narrow and jaundiced interpretation of Torah is immediately labelled a 'self hating Jew' and told to 'go back where they came from'. These 300 rabbis and their supporters are hewn from same rotten stock that refused to marry Holocaust survivors because they could no provide their mothers' ketubot, destroyed along with the communities and synagogues across Europe. Does Israel really want to emulate the Taliban or the fanatic Mullahs and Imams. If so Israel will start to justify the vile appelation of Pariah State. The rabbis and elements within the Knesset seem to want a return to the shtetl but with the pogroms directed by Jews at the 'goyim'.
