    Your unlearned comment is not the end of the story. If you feel competent to quote God, and what he promised the Israelites, you should know what else God said about the subject. If you did, you would know that not all the land that Joshua entered when he led the 12 tribes of Israelites into the land of Canaan from across the river Jordan was promised to Jews. In Judges 2 21-23, God said, “I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died.” The Jebusites who had already built Jerusalem, and still occupied the city for over 100 years after the Israelites arrived in Canaan, were still there, in Jerusalem. Therefore God did not intend to give all the land to the Israelites. Respected scholars and historians contend the Jebusites were the forbears of the Palestinians. When Abraham entered Canaan in c.1935 B.C. he was met and hosted by Melchizedek, a Jebusite king and priest.
