"it must be added that there is no attempt to actually analyse the issue of israel's strategic value to the us. if, as oren says, israel has no strategic value to the us, what chance is there that israel and the six million jews who live in the state will survive?" CJK Perhaps you see your second sentence above as attempt to "actually analyse" this issue. It is not. It is yet one more ciporish teleological argument, where the fixed conclusion, precedes, justifies and corrupts the reasoning. I remember you decrying Obama's lack of political experience, and when Palin entered the scene, hailing her as a fitting choice. I remember you theorising that despite the obvious, Lieberman might in fact be a "tsadik" and "only the time will show". Well why won't you give this time to Obama? Or to Sarkozy, Abbas, Assad etc. The fate of 6 mln Israelis enjoying their comfy lives is of consequence, but it is not a strategic question or it is no more than the fate of daily subjugated Palestinians
