Israel's IDF clearly should be defending the country, the soldiers, and civilians throughout. The sirens I now hear remind me the fear I felt as a child in 1967 going into our building's bombshelter. I have no qualms with Israel protecting defensively but my concern is a major offensive which perpetuates further hatred by the Arabs, (currently the Lebanese & Palestinians) and activates the emotions of Islamic fundamentalists all over the world. Diplomacy in the Middle East has never been given the full course effort by all sides, it's been always reactionary when continutious issues arise and there's never patience for positive developments.
